The Chaplains

Fr. Marek Bator – grinning like a Cheshire Cat, full of life and optimism – is our parish priest. He has been working with us for 10 years, for seven as a vicar and since 2008 as the parish priest. He still has not run out of that ‘eager beaver’ attitude with which he brings us closer to himself and the Lord.
You can often see our parish priest with guitar at his side, whirling and singing anything that has recently caught his ear, while at the same time his heartfelt laughter can be heard as far as at the halls of residence located nearby.
The mountains are Fr. Marek’s passion. He could hike there for days on end. He is particularly fond of a log cabin in the Silesian Beskids mountain range, which serves as his retreat when he feels like contemplating the beauty of nature or the all-encompassing silence of the area. He often takes us on mountain hikes, although few of us can keep up with his pace.
Our parish priest loves anything Italian. He sometimes speaks to us in the language of Boccaccio and has promised that he would take us to that beautiful corner of the Earth.

Fr. Jacek Szczecina – our wonderful vicar, even though he has been working at the Chaplaincy for 3 years, we feel as if he has been with us forever. He laughs louder than our parish priest (which is an achievement in itself). Always smiling and bursting with energy, he is open to our ideas.
Our funny vicar is a great dancer and a talented entertainer. With his dancing, singing and his ‘Vicar Awards’, he livens up any party.
Fr. Jacek also welcomes a challenge. Despite the fact that he cannot swim, he came kayaking with us once and taught us songs, together with the accompanying gestures. So we were, sort of, dancing in our kayaks.
